Varsity Elite puts the basketball in the main compartment and provides a separate bottom pocket for shoes or sweaty clothing. No Weigh Playmaker describes one XL main compartment for a ball and a pair of shoes, with perforations for breathability; Under Armour does not describe an independent shoe chamber.

Choose the Nike layout when keeping footwear away from books or clean clothing is a non-negotiable requirement. Choose the UA layout only after accepting that the court gear shares one section. Perforations describe airflow openings, not a drying rate, odor guarantee or leakproof barrier.

Full-size ball evidence versus a documented wide opening

Nike says the Varsity Elite main compartment fits up to a full-size basketball. Under Armour says the Playmaker zipper track is wide enough for a fully inflated ball, but does not quantify its size in that fit statement. A shared screen class does not establish identical sleeve dimensions, padding or compatibility with a thick case; compare the device's physical measurements when laptop fit is required.

Nike publishes 12 inches wide by 19 high by 9 deep. Under Armour publishes 12.2 inches wide by 10.2 deep, but its own sources conflict on height: 20.1 inches on the product page and 21.1 inches in the No Weigh comparison. Preserve that one-inch conflict when locker, torso or luggage clearance is close.

Empty weight, straps and weather wording need boundaries

Under Armour currently states that Playmaker weighs 1.9 pounds, or 30.4 ounces. Nike's current Varsity Elite product page does not publish an empty weight, so this comparison cannot claim which bag is lighter. Use your own item weights to estimate the packed load rather than treating either strap name as a safe carrying limit.

Nike names Air Max shoulder straps. Under Armour names UA Suspension straps, LEVELED adjustment and UA Storm water repellency.
