Now you need to know whether the compartment contains moisture, not merely whether it separates objects. Ask specifically about the lining, seams and intended wet-item use.
Drying is a third question. Nike's shoe-care guidance describes taking steps to expose wet shoes to airflow rather than leaving them closed in a carrier. Plan where you can unpack them after the journey.
